The original design of the Drašković Palace is attributed to Bartol Felbinger, and the building was constructed in 1839. During its conversion into the National Home (1846–1848, Aleksandar Brdarić), the Illyrian Hall was given its current form. After the complete reconstruction of the hall in 1994, and following the 2020 earthquake, the comprehensive renovation of the building includes strengthening the structure, adapting all spaces and installations, and undertaking extensive restoration work aimed at preserving the classical features and adapting the building to modern scientific and research needs.
